When we test, each tool gets the same tasks and is scored 0–10 on five criteria: output quality (30%), ease of use (20%), features (20%), value for money (20%) and support (10%). What is the best AI voice generator?
We haven’t finished hands-on testing, so we don’t name an overall winner yet. Based on published plans: ElevenLabs has the broadest credit-based plan range, Murf AI sells Studio plans by hours of voice generation, and Descript bundles AI Speech into a video and podcast editor.
Is there a free AI voice generator?
Yes. Per their pricing pages (checked Oct 14, 2026): ElevenLabs Free includes 10k credits a month, Murf’s Free plan includes 10 minutes of voice generation (no downloads or commercial rights), and Descript Free includes 1 media hour a month.
Which AI voice generator allows commercial use?
Check each plan’s license. ElevenLabs lists a commercial license from Starter ($6/mo), and Murf lists commercial rights on Creator ($19/mo billed annually). Free plans generally don’t include it.
Can I clone my own voice?
ElevenLabs lists Instant Voice Cloning from Starter and Professional Voice Cloning from Creator. Descript lists AI Speech with custom voice clones on paid plans. Murf lists custom voice clones as an Enterprise add-on.
